     Brothers & Sisters,

Local 965 is closely monitoring the rapidly developing situation with COVID-19 and making decisions based on guidance from health professionals and the International office. It goes without saying that our first and foremost priority during this time is the health, safety, and well-being of our members and their families.

Local 965 has made some tough decisions regarding the operation of the hall and lobby.  On Monday, March 16, 2020, we closed the lobby in order to protect the staff.  The office is still open for business through phone calls during our normal business hours.  Agents are still currently working in the field as normal.  We will continue to monitor recommendations from Governor’s Pritzker’s office and health professionals on this situation.  We plan to resume normal operation of the office as soon as it is safe and like everyone, our hope is that it is soon.

The International Training Site at Crosby, Texas has been closed and classes postponed until April 20, 2020.  The Local 965 Training Site has also been closed.  We will re-open our training site at a time when it is deemed safe for all to be there.

If any of our retired members are unable to get out and you are in need of necessities, please let us know and we will try to assist you in any way possible.

With patience and smart decisions, we will get through this with no problems.  If you have any questions, please contact the office.  My best to everyone, wishes for good health and a quick resolution to this situation.

     In Solidarity,

     Bret E. Scaggs

    Business Manager
